Every Woman’s Guide to a Heart-Healthy Life

heart health month

It’s the last week of American Heart Month, a time I like to focus on Women’s Heart Health.

For a long time heart disease was thought of as a “man’s” disease.  But we now know that heart disease is actually the number one killer of woman in the United States.

This year I was sent a great book that every woman can benefit from.  It’s Dr. Suzanne Steinbaum’s Heart Book:  Every Woman’s Guide to a Heart Healthy Life.  I especially liked this book because of it’s holistic approach to living a heart healthy life.  This book really is for every woman, because we can all benefit from Dr. Steinbaum’s intuitive, lifelong plan that addresses the root causes of heart disease and provides a refreshing new approach to heart-centered healing.  In the book Dr. Steinbaum lays out a program that helps readers shift from stress-focused and mind-centered living to heart-centered living.

Covering traditional risk factors and preventative care of heart disease such as weight, cholesterol, and blood pressure, to lifestyle habits including eating, diet and exercise, Dr. Steinbaum also demonstrates how emotional awareness and self-image play a key role in heart health.  Advocating a heart-centered, authentic life, the book actually leads readers to a love-focused, heart-lead life.  In addition to a healthier heart, readers can also benefit from the side-effects of Dr. Steinbaum’s heart-centered plan: weight loss, fitness, inner calm, happiness, healthy, vitality and a new mastery of life by taking care of their hearts both literally and metaphorically.

This isn’t just another book about what to do, and what not to do for a healthy heart.  Instead, it’s actually the blueprint and building-blocks for an overall healthy life.
